And here it comes, the next BaconGamesAward: VVVVVV
Actually i do not like the graphics of the game. They are too simple without any details, and the colorset isn’t very nice. However i decided to take this to my collection of “must play” games because of the very nice gameplay. It is a jump and run game but not a usual one. Instead of jumping you can jump and revert gravity at once. This means that whenever you jump, you fly from the floor to the ceiling. When you do it again, you jump from the ceiling back to the floor. With this little but clever twist the game brings a completely new experience to the players. And this is what a good game should do, right ? So have a look at it, you will be surprised how new and fresh this jump and run is!

BaconGamesAward is back with Neon Layers!
First of all, this will be a quickie for you . The game is incredibly easy to understand, but delivers a deep and challenging gameplay and it gets very hard soon. The goal is to bring the ball to the “exit”. Gravity forces the ball to fall. You control differently colored layers on which the ball rolls. You can activate and deactivate different layers to control how the ball rolls, falls and bounces. Sounds easy ? It isn’t! It’s all about thinking and timing!
This is the sort of games i like. It is simple, it brings one (new) concept to the gaming world as clear as possible and it provides deep and challenging gameplay. Have fun! View full article »

This game makes you play a magician who needs to rescue ghost. To do so he can transform himself, to use the Powers of air, earth and his human form. The game has very nice graphics and an appealing setting and story. The puzzles are well thought-out. I found another game worth the BaconGamesAward: Shift!
In this outstanding game the player needs to shift between two realities to solve the logic-puzzles. There is the “black” world and the “white” world, and the player can either be black or white. Which is what screws you up and makes you think.

This is the first game deserving my BaconGamesAward! Don’t miss it!
The aim is to make a block fall through a hole. You can roll your block in any direction to find your way through the labyrinth without falling over the edges.
I like how the game makes you plan many moves in advance. The levels are very challenging, the graphics and music fit perfectly. View full article »
